_________A Red Flag Warning is issued by the National Weather Service when strong or gusty winds combined with low relative humidity, dry or drought conditions would indicate the rapid propagation of any fire that occurs.Even though there may not be a Burn Ban, any outdoor burning is discouraged.
Outdoor BurningBurn Bans are set by the Kerr Country Commissioners Court by precincts.During a Burn Ban there is NO outdoor burning allowed, including household trash and food preparation with charcoal grills.If the Burn Ban is off, outdoor burning is allowed from 1 hour after sunrise to 1 hour before sunset.Fires must be extinguished by 1 hour before sunset. Burns must be constantly monitored during the active burning phase (live flames). If your fire burns beyond your property line, you are liable for any damages to other properties.The burning of oils, tars, tires, plastics, treated wood, electronic equipment, styrofoam products and other items that would produce hazardous smoke is prohibited.
